成長(zhǎng)歷史

這個(gè)以戴白面具、白手套和棒球帽著稱的舞團(tuán)，在2003年成立於San Diego（圣迭戈)，團(tuán)名典故源於「愛麗斯夢(mèng)游仙境之鏡中奇緣]Alice in wonderland的詩 。他們最初多半在SD和LA演出，2007年參加America's Got Talent第二季的比賽后，知名度大增，2008年在America's Best Dance Crew以銳不可擋的氣勢(shì)奪下首季冠軍。

假面舞客這一團(tuán)隊(duì)創(chuàng)立初衷是一群朋友想要展示自由風(fēng)的舞蹈。在那個(gè)時(shí)代Hip-Hop風(fēng)盛行，然而到處都是一些風(fēng)格相同的舞蹈團(tuán)隊(duì)，那些舞蹈者所表現(xiàn)的舞蹈就像是克隆過一樣?！拔璧笧榱烁S音樂的節(jié)奏”和“舞蹈作為藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)形式”兩者之間失去了平衡。因此就有了假面舞客的誕生。

經(jīng)由《美國(guó)偶像 American Idol》評(píng)委Randy Jackson打造的《Randy Jackson Present America’s Best Dance Crew》結(jié)束了第一季的比賽，也誕生了第一只美國(guó)最棒的舞蹈團(tuán)隊(duì)，這支團(tuán)隊(duì)就是JabbaWockeeZ。

JABBA早期是11個(gè)人，ABDC當(dāng)時(shí)的比賽要求人數(shù)不能多于7個(gè)，他們決定讓Gary，Phi，Rainen，Joe，Phil，KB，Chris7個(gè)人參賽，但是Gary Kendell因肺炎去世了，他們?yōu)榱吮Ａ鬐ary的位置，把參賽人數(shù)定為6人，后來Joe的腳踝受傷了，于是Ben代替他參賽，所以到ABDC的時(shí)候是他們6個(gè)人。他們有些舞蹈中無論開頭還是結(jié)束都有指向天的動(dòng)作，那是為了紀(jì)念逝去的隊(duì)友。他們的舞蹈表演人數(shù)因場(chǎng)地和要求不斷改變。Jabbawockeez每個(gè)成員都有不同的舞蹈風(fēng)格和生活背景，這為整個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)帶來了多元化的風(fēng)格和觀點(diǎn)。

特色

在ABDC比賽期間，評(píng)審Lil Mama毫不避諱地多次表示她超挺JabbaWockeeZ，Lil Mama對(duì)JabbaWockeeZ的評(píng)論是：「每次表演時(shí)，雖然你們的腳步踩得超穩(wěn)，但是手部動(dòng)作卻異常優(yōu)雅，這是你們與眾不同的特點(diǎn)，也是我愛JabbaWockeeZ的原因。」

假面舞客這個(gè)創(chuàng)意來自于Joseph Larot, Kevin Brewer和Phil Tayag三個(gè)人。

成員

當(dāng)時(shí)整個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)還包括另外五位成員，他們共同創(chuàng)造了假面舞客的特殊風(fēng)格。

這五位成員分別是：Randy Bernal, Ryan Ellis, Chris Gatdula, Gary Kendell, Rainen Paguio。

2004年，假面舞客的成員人數(shù)又增加到了11個(gè)。

所增加的那四位成員分別為：Ben Chung, Eddie Gutierrez, Saso Jimenez和Jeff "Phi” Nguyen。

舞者花絮

BEN CHUNG AKA 'B-TEK'在2002年自UC Irvine畢業(yè)，他也曾是Kaba Modern的舞。

JabbaWockeeZ在參加ABDC之前甫遇團(tuán)員不幸逝世之慟。他們?cè)赼udition時(shí)便提到，他們希望為逝世的團(tuán)員拿下冠軍，所以他們每次表演或謝幕時(shí)常指著上方，象徵心永遠(yuǎn)同在。

The group gained fame by appearing on America's Got Talent before winning the MTV hip hop dance reality series America's Best Dance Crew on March 27, 2008. The crew has won $100,000 and a touring contract after being crowned as America's Best Dance Crew in season one. The crew is known for wearing plain white masks and gloves and performing synchronized dance moves. Their name is derived from the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky (featured in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland).

Originally the group that was going to compete on America's Best Dance Crew had seven members, including the late Gary Kendell. Unfortunately, Kendell passed away shortly before the group's start on the show America's Best Dance Crew due to pneumonia. The six JabbaWockeeZ members on the show told the judges during the Live Auditions Special that Gary was the "Yoda" of their crew and that they were doing the show for him. They have stated, "As a tribute to him we point our fingers in the air after each performance
